Lightweight Solution When United Utilities needed to find a solution to the problem of pump retrieval from isolated wet wells and chambers, they contacted Dale lifting and handling sales to provide the answer. Having found out their exact requirements, we duly provided a demonstration of our 'Type T' super lightweight aluminium portable gantries. The result was that they have ordered and just taken delivery of 17 gantries in two beam sizes.  These gantries have a total weight of just 70 kgs which can be dismantled into handy sections (see photo of van) The beam sections used start at 5 kgs per metre so are ideal for field service and installation work.   To find more about the Type T and Type AF alumnium gantries - Click here                                                                                                   Back to top
Preventing Falls from Vehicles Approximately 2000 workers are seriously injured every year as a result of falling from a vehicle with an average of 5 workers dying. 90% of the falls are from below head height and the estimated economic and human cost of the incidents known about is £36.7 million. An HSE  campaign aims to raise awareness of the risk of falling that workers are exposed to when accessing and/or working at height on vehicles and the actions that should be taken to minimise these risks.
