The bespoke 15 metre long spreader beam (Shown above and left) was designed and manufactured by Dale's in-house specialist engineering department.

Developed to handle floating barrage sections, the beam design called for a SWL of 2 tonnes and had to be dismantled into smaller sections for transportation around the world with the barrages.

The beam is fitted with a two leg top chain and 6 No. lower drop chains to provide evenly distributed support points to prevent load sag.
