Design, manufacture and installation from Dale Lifting and Handling

The design and fabrication facilities available from Dale Engineering Services have the capabilities and resources to create equipment for specialist applications in all areas of lifting equipment, height safety and material handling.

Overhead Travelling Cranes

Are designed using CAD design software and are manufactured in accordance with international standards using quality hoists end carriages, components, materials and welding procedures. They are built to last in varying operating conditions and all supporting gantries and electrical feed systems are designed to accommodate relevant site conditions, with full site surveys carried out.

Light Cranes and Monorail Systems

A wide range of track profiles are available for versatile and rapid overhead load handling applications. These systems are suitable for handling loads from as little as 5kgs to 2000kgs. With track bends, switches and turntables, plus suspended fork/platform masts, we have a solution to suit most applications.
The deceptively robust construction requires little or no maintenance and provides a cost-effective solution to high-volume handling operations. Dale can provide a complete installation service including supporting structures or ceiling supports.

Runway Systems

All runway systems are designed to meet specific requirements but are manufactured to meet appropriate standards. Complete systems, installed by the Dale installation team include hoist units, power feed and lifting devices.   Full erection and proof load testing is also provided .

Swing Jib Cranes and Lifting Davits

Are available in a standard range that includes manual and powered slewing for wall, column and floor standing applications. For a jib crane or davit that is out of the ordinary, a bespoke solution can be provided. All cranes meet international standards.

Lifting Beams, Spreader Beams and Container Lifting Frames

All assemblies are manufactured from certified components and steel. Welding is in accordance with appropriate specifications and all items are manufactured to a standard proven design or to specific requirements. Fixed or adjustable lifting centres can be provided, and our 100 tonnes capacity in-house proof testing facility ensures all equipment is fit for purpose before use.

Grabs, Roll-over and Fixed Load Attachments

Can be provided or developed to interface with your particular load. Scissor action, pneumatic and balanced devices can also be designed for load manipulation, general manufacturing and construction applications.

Heavy Duty Racking and Barriers

Are part of our ever growing range of safety products which are individually designed to meet heavy duty applications. Mezzanine gates and edge barriers are manufactured in-house to standard or bespoke requirements.

Permanent Safety Lines

For vertical and horizontal movement of personnel, permanent safety lines are available for external and internal high level operations. Applications include building cleaning and maintenance, working on overhead cranes or structures, and safe working on high machines and vehicles.

On-site inspections

The main requirements of PUWER98 is to ensure that work equipment is suitable for its purpose and is maintained and inspected when appropriate to ensure that it has been correctly installed and remains in a serviceable condition.

Under LOLER, the required thorough examination regime has become more flexible and can be provided on a risk assessment basis, if the user opts for a fixed period, the maximum is shown in the Summary of Inspection section.
All equipment must be periodically examined by a competent person and a record of the results must be kept. Any equipment found unfit for a further period of service should be withdrawn. In addition to this formal examination, it is good practise to check the equipment before use.

Dale will help you to comply with these regulations by arranging periodical examination by an LEEA trained engineer and will also arrange in-use inspection training for your own personnel.
Some equipment also requires regular preventative maintenance. Such maintenance not only prolongs the life of the equipment but also ensures that it is always fit for service. When repairs affect the load bearing parts of the equipment, they should be thoroughly examined and, if necessary, retested before further use. Dale can provide a combination examination and maintenance programme - ensuring your equipment is kept up to standard, and achieves a substantial saving on duplication - leaving you and your personnel to concentrate on your core business.
